Can SEVIS fee be used for another term?

Postby danfx86 » Wed, 25 May 2016 11:12:43 -0500

Hi everyone,

This is my first post here. My wife recently got i-20 from an university in Pennsylvania. She's currently on H4 visa and now in the process of changing her status to F1.

Initially, she had plans to join this Fall and she payed the SEVIS fee. If she couldn't get change of status get done in time. She will be joining for next term and not Fall 2016. My question is if she can use same SEVIS payment for next term or she have to make the SEVIS payment again.

It will be really helpful if you can answer my question :) Thanks in advance.
